I love Scottsdale pretty much any time of year but I love it even more during the winter months when it's cold and snowy back home. After our trip to Bali in November, we knew we would be itching to go somewhere once the cold settled in after Christmas time. You know that lull between the holidays where no one's really doing anything but sitting around or gone away on vacation?? Yea, it's not fun. But with my due date quickly approaching, flying anywhere was out. So we decided to pack up and head to good ol' Scottsdale to our favorite hotel, The Valley Ho. If you haven't been, you really should. Decked out in mid century modern heaven with orange trees, palm trees and beautifully manicured lawns, the Valley Ho represents a sort of palm springs glamour. We settled in a couple days before NYE and stayed 'till the 3rd. It was a fun escape for the family, enjoying the sun pool side, trying new restaurants and exploring the streets of old town Scottsdale. We also explored the beauty of the Tonto national forest and watched the sun set of the cacti. Oh! We also stayed in Santa Fe for a night and had a lot of fun walking through the markets there! Definitely need to go back soon, it's filled with beautiful Navajo art, jewelry and rugs!
