Jeff and I took a last minute trip to Vancouver, A beautiful city we've never been to. Just the two of us to feel like kids again (ok, we didn't need a trip to Vancouver to feel like kids again but it was a good excuse!) We explored the streets, ate some scrumptious food and then... we thought, let's get on a helicopter! I had never been in one and neither had he. Why not...right??!! So we did! We decided on a back country excursion where it would take us through the beautiful mountain range of British Columbia and land somewhere where we could get out and take in all the beauty. The next day we found ourself giddy as can be while driving to the helicopter airport. We got in what felt like the tiniest glass bubble, we exchanged some concerning looks but before we new it we were in the sky. Oh... My... Goodness... What a feeling! A rush came over like nothing else, it was pure excitement with a little bit of fear. The helicopter swayed side to side a little as it made it's way up. Within minutes we were consumed by such beauty all fear was gone, It was magical. We flew over the tops of the mountains into the clouds and witnessed the clearest, blue lakes I had ever seen in my life. We made a mid flight stop by one of the lakes, on a rock. We got out and could instantly feel the true beauty that was mother nature in her purest form, it was so quiet it instilled a peace within you that made your heart jump. This was ecstacy, euphoria that took a hold of every cell of your being. We sat at the edge of the rock for a bit before heading back into our tiny glass bubble that would soon make its way into the city again. An epic adventure it was, I'm so glad we decided to take a leap into the unknown. Life truly is about exploring, it's through these choices that we get to experience new things, to feel alive and to grow as human beings. Of course we all have our things that excite us and make us feel alive. For Jeff and I, it is through travel, through new experiences with our growing family and being consumed in nature. Whatever yours is, if you don't know, go find it and if you do, go do more of it.
