We spent our entire December between France and Italy, exploring the beautiful cities and eating the most delicious foods. I still can't get over the best bolognese i've ever had in my life. We took many day trips by train, one of my favorite days was the one spent in Cannes. The city is so beautiful and exciting, the ocean quite magical with its lovely colored hues of blues. When the sun lay its rays on the water it looked as if diamonds danced on top. The weather was mild this particular day and the streets were filled with people. We took the morning train in from Nice, which was our "permanent" base after leaving Paris. It was about a 45 minute train ride and lucky for us once we got off we walked right by an amazing bakery, so naturally we decided to stop in and have a second breakfast of salty tarts and eclairs paired with Frances delicious coffee. Pictures hung on the wall of all the famous actors that have visited over time from George Clooney to Kate Moss. After we had had our fix, we walked around the shops before making our way down to the beach. People lay on their blankets snuggled in with their loved ones. There were so many beach side restaurants that were mouth watering worthy we had a hard time picking, but soon enough we made our choice and it was perfect. The thing I love about France is the culture, I think I took on my fathers side very much in that way (he's from Spain). When you go out to eat, you're not rushed in any way. In fact, I think you're encouraged to stay as long as you please and to really enjoy your food and your company. We literally lounged all day at this restaurant. From lunch time until the sun set! After eating we made our way down to cabanas where we ordered Rose and sipped and relaxed as we watched our son play.
